Venezuela clasificó a segunda ronda tras derrotar a Paraguay
Venezuela mantiene su paso perfecto en las ventanas clasificatorias FIBA camino al mundial 2023 y aseguró su pase a la segunda ronda luego de propinar una paliza a Paraguay con marcador de 97-48. Los criollos tuvieron a Jhornan Zamora como el máximo anotador con 24 puntos del encuentro celebrado en el estadio de Obras Sanitarias en Argentina.
Desde la primera ya se sabía que Venezuela iba a tener una tarde relajada en el Templo del Rock. Los dirigidos por Fernando Duró no tuvieron presión alguna durante el encuentro y dominaron de principio a fin.
A pesar del abultado marcador los criollos nunca bajaron el ritmo durante el partido.
Con este triunfo Venezuela aseguró su pase a la segunda ronda de las ventanas clasificatorias al mundial. Además, con el diferencial de puntos es casi un hecho que Venezuela terminará como líder de grupo.
En la segunda ronda enfrentarán a Canadá, República Dominicana y el tercer equipo podría ser Bahamas que derrotó a Islas Vírgenes y se acerca a la clasificación. Esa ronda comenzará en el mes de agosto.
Los últimos compromisos de la primera ronda para Venezuela serán frente a Argentina y Paraguay entre el 27 de junio y el 5 de julio. Los criollos esperan poder jugar en el país ambos compromisos.
