Venezuela no fue en tren, fue en avión y derrotó a Argentina
Venezuela logró un paso importante camino al mundial 2023 al derrotar a Argentina 71-58 y como la canción de Charly García, los criollos no fueron en tren, fueron en avión y conquistaron el Templo del Rock. Los muchachos de Duró ni se despeinaron ante un conjunto albiceleste que no mostró su mejor cara.
Desde el inicio del partido Venezuela marcó el ritmo con un Néstor Colmenares pletórico al terminar con 17 puntos y 8 rebotes. En ningún momento el equipo nacional se vio intimidado por la escuadra que dirige Néstor “Che” García.
El equipo argentino solo encestó 5 triples de 23 intentos y lanzó para un 50% desde la línea de tiros libres. Algo poco frecuente en el seleccionado sureño.
Por su parte Venezuela tuvo una noche ofensiva con altibajos, pero defensivamente lograron parar a los locales y se alzaron con el triunfo.
Este lauro coloca a Venezuela en una gran posición de cara a la segunda ronda que es donde vas a batallar el cupo al mundial.
